Ribs & Rebuttals

Tami and I had our 4th date at my place last night. She brought over some ribs (a couple of racks leftover from the weekend's rib fest at her cafe) and we watched the final President Debate on TV. She is also a conservative, so we shared our cheers for Romney's rebuttals and groans for Obama's lies.

Unless I'm totally clueless, I think Tami's a keeper.

  1. Very good... What do we know about her? Kids?

  2. You don't know anything about her, though I do.

Tami is a devout Mormon (no drinking, for example), though she's not been as active as she would like in the past couple years because of her cafe. She still finds time, however, to teach at temple every other Sunday. She does not care that I am not LDS (nor a teetotaler), nor would she ask me to convert.

Tami has six adult children. Her oldest, Nate, lives in Buffalo, as does Tami and her mother, though none of them live together. Most of the remaining children live in the Chicago area, which is where Tami lived for several years before her sister lured her to Buffalo to open their cafe, which Tami has been running on her own for the past year or two after Karen left the business to focus more on her new family.

I have met her mother, son, and brother-in-law, though I have not met her sister. I need a scorecard to keep track of everybody, but Tami is impressed that I remember the names of everybody. If only she knew what an accomplishment that is for me.

Tami is closing the cafe at the end of the month, and she says that her immediate plan on 11/1 is to take a nap. She is looking to return to sales, which means she will probably be moving closer to The Cities once she finds work.
